KNOWLEDGE

This week I chose this dope piece entitled
“Founding Fathers-The Untold Story Of Hip-Hop (Narrated by Chuck D)” . It’s a documentary about

unsung DJ’s who contributed to the foundational principals of the music known today as Hip Hop. This documentary transports you to a journey back to the early underground disco days of the streets and parks throughout New York City.

Thank You for checking this week and Thank You to all my readers who have supported the first 71 of these.

Enjoy and Be Educated #1424-Under the Influence (Pt 2)–Nathaniel Wilson (Kool G. Rap)

Enjoy and Be Educated #1424: Under the Influence, Part 2 – Nathaniel Wilson (Kool G. Rap) | Download

TDU1200 sais:

When asked about hip-hop legends (particularly in Queens), Kool G. Rap must be brought up during the conversation. The Corona, Queens native has created quite an illustrious career beginning in 1986 until the present, influencing such hip-hop heavyweights as Jay-Z, Big L, Notorious B.I.G. and Big Pun. His incredible delivery and wordplay can only be matched by a few artists, and he personifies lyricism at its finest. Credited with being one of (if not) the first to incorporate mafia themed lyrics in his rhymes, he gave NY gangsta rap an identity when that style dominated west coast hip-hop. Focusing primarily on his earlier work and featuring 32 tracks of breaks, bars and breath control (another trait unsurpassed by many), here are 2 hours of one of hip-hop’s finest MCs to ever hold a microphone. Enjoy and be educated.
